The Libyan Health Ministry launched Sunday a program for localizing medical treatment in order to improve medical services provided by the Libyan public health sector.

Deputy Minister of Health for medical centers’ affairs, Tawfiq Al-Dresi, said the implementation of the localization program will be through hosting foreign and Arab visiting doctors for advanced surgery in different areas.

Tawfiq referred to partnerships between medical centers and public hospitals to make up for the shortage of cadres in hospitals by sending specialized medical teams to conduct surgeries in rural areas within the districts where car accidents happen more frequently, not to mention hospitals in south Libya.
