The primary election result of the Libyan Youth Parliament was announced on Sunday in a ceremony attended by Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah.

In his speech on the occasion, Dbeibah emphasized the need to proceed with the youth elections and called on the media to raise awareness in this area as these elections are relatively new in Libya.

The PM said this was a training and outreach program about democracy in Libya, targeting young people and qualifying them to take the initiative in the upcoming and following elections. "There is no way other than elections to move forward in Libya," Dbiebah added.

He expressed his appreciation to those who supervised the elections and hoped it would reach all Libyans across the country.

The youth parliamentary elections organized by the Government of National Unity received 148,594 votes via SMS, of which 51,439 were valid.

The spokeswoman for the Ministry of Youth announced the winning candidates in the 13 electoral districts across the country. More than 2,000 young candidates aged between 17 and 40 competed in this round.
