Ajdabiya Security Directorate warned of the possibility of forest fires starting Monday until next Wednesday, adding in a notice to residents, on Sunday, that there is a possibility of active, high-speed, dust-laden winds movements, which may cause a lack of visibility and the possibility of forest fires on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, according to preliminary information received from the relevant authorities.
The parallel government announced an official holiday to all public authorities Monday and Tuesday in light of expectations of the arrival of a sand storm in eastern Libya, causing weather fluctuations.
Central Bank starts measures to withdraw 50 dinars banknotes across Libya
The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) announced the start of withdrawing the first and second prints of the 50 dinars banknotes from circulation on Sunday, saying that the last date for accepting the 50 banknotes in banks will be the end of the working hours on Thursday, August 29.
The CBL asked the banks operating in Libya and their branches to enable the public to present the banknotes and deposit them in their current accounts, as well as to organize the work in a way that facilitates deposit operations.
North Africa Classic Car Show
The first show for classic car owners in North Africa was held in Tripoli by Tripoli Classic Car Club, in the presence of the mayor of the central municipality of Tripoli, the ambassadors of Algeria and Mexico in Libya, and classic cars fans.

Public Prosecutor orders detention in warehouse arson case
The Public Prosecutor's Office has ordered the detention of officials from an electrical works company and two guards, pending an investigation into charges of deliberately setting fire to the firm's warehouse in the Al-Karimia area of Tripoli.
According to the investigations, the fire was caused by a deliberate placement of flammable materials ignited by a heat source. Consequently, the blaze consumed a warehouse housing components and electrical equipment valued at 179,370,264 Libyan Dinars.
National "Reading Challenge" takes off, Souk Al-Jumaa hosts first stage
